About Us
Miso Luna Catering is built on a shared passion for seasonal cooking, thoughtful hospitality, and bringing people together around the table.

Tami Grooney
My cooking is rooted in my Japanese heritage and a childhood shaped by food and travel. After years in restaurant management, I transitioned into the kitchen, focusing on nourishing, seasonal, and traditionally inspired foods. Whether in restaurants, community kitchens, or on a farm, each experience deepened my passion for bringing people together through food. Through Miso Luna, I continue this work—creating thoughtful, health-forward meals that connect people in the kitchen and around the table.
Mary Ellen Forster
I began my career in the corporate world before following a growing passion for wellness and cooking. After training as a Health Coach and studying at the Natural Gourmet Institute, I worked as a private chef and later spent eight years hosting farm-to-table dinners, events, and cooking classes on an organic farm. Along the way, travel has deeply influenced my approach, especially Mediterranean cooking - simple, seasonal, and full of flavor. I see food as a central part of any gathering, bringing people together and shaping the overall experience.

Miso & Luna!
Miso Luna began as something close to home—it’s inspired by the names of our two rescue dogs. But it also carries a deeper meaning. “Mi,” “Sol,” and “Luna” call to mind "my sun and moon", a reflection of the natural cycles and seasonality that shape how we cook. The name has an easy European feel—simple, memorable, and reflective of the global influences that inspire our menus.
“Tami and Mary Ellen's team were fantastic to work with. They created dishes that matched the garden-party vibe of our wedding perfectly. Our guests kept complimenting the food all evening." - Trevor and Nora Handy
